Fundraiser started for family of Nanaimo man killed in Malahat accident

Share

A GoFundMe page has been started by relatives of the motorist who died in a tragic rollover accident on the Malahat on Wednesday morning.

Jennifer Kurucz started the fundraiser for her brother, who she identifies as Jonathan Seidel.

Seidel was killed after a two-vehicle collision involving his sewage truck on the Malahat at 8:10 a.m. The driver of an SUV was injured and taken to hospital.

The fundraiser is looking for $5,000 to cover funeral, life, and baby expenses for Jonathan’s wife Randa and their two-month-old daughter Hazel. The fundraiser was nearly halfway to its goal at time of writing.

Kurucz says Randa is self-employed and relied on Jonathan’s job as a truck driver to support their family.

West Shore RCMP have not confirmed the identity of the deceased driver.
