Here’s what the BC wildfires look like from 25,000 feet above ground (VIDEO)

An unprecedented series of wildfires is sweeping across the province, and photos and videos have captured the devastation, as thousands of firefighters work to battle the flames.

As of Monday afternoon, the air quality in the Greater Victoria area has a health index of 10+ (very high), and the haze is here to stay for at least the next few days.

It’s gotten to the point where you can’t escape the smoke – even when you’re 25,000 ft in the sky, as evidenced by a video posted on Instagram.

Taken by Zsolt Timar-Geng over the weekend, the video and photos show a thick cloud of wildfire smoke rising up against the clear blue backdrop of the sky at 25,000 feet, somewhere between the municipalities of Burns Lake and Smithers, BC.
