A 74-year-old Times Colonist delivery person was the victim of a car jacking on Sunday morning.
The victim reported the incident in person to the Oak Bay Police Department at about 3 a.m. on August 19th, after an unknown man pushed him to the ground, took his car keys, got into the vehicle and drove away.
The incident occurred while he was delivering papers on Island Road, and the suspect was wearing dark clothes at the time.
The publisher of the Times Colonist, Dave Obee, told Victoria Buzz that the victim has a sore back but is anxious to get back to his route. He wishes to remain anonymous at this time as the suspect has his home address and house keys.
Police are asking people to be on the lookout for the vehicle: a brown 1999 Oldsmobile Alero, license plate FL307T. The car has duct tape holding up all the windows except the driver’s.
If you see a vehicle that matches the description and looks similar to the one posted above, call 911.
