This year’s Reader’s Choice Awards’ by Condé Nast Traveler includes a list of the 10 friendliest cities in the world in 2018 – and Victoria is one of them.

The list was compiled by the magazine after hundreds of thousands of readers completed a survey about where they felt the most welcomed.

According to the survey, three of the world’s friendliest cities are in Ireland, and two are in Mexico. Meanwhile, Victoria is the only Canadian city that made it to the list.

“Several readers raved about the cleanliness, while another commented on the ‘mix of beautiful nature, arts, museums, and shopping’. As for the locals, ‘even the drivers in traffic are polite!'” reads their description of Victoria.
