Share

The BC Children’s Hospital Foundation has issued an advisory to the public after the emergence of a string of fraudulent emails.

The emails are being sent to donors and include fake PayPal receipts that appear to be issued by the BCCHF.

“The email is not from BC Children’s Hospital Foundation or PayPal,” reads the warning from the organization. “It is a fraudulent attempt to gain access to your PayPal account.”

Individuals who have been targeted by the phishing scam are being asked to forward these emails to spoof@paypal.com for investigation.

If you did click the link or downloaded any attachments within the email, login to your PayPal account to review any recent transactions immediately. Click here for more information on how to dealing with suspicious account activity.

The BCCHF maintains that data from the organization has not been compromised and remains secure.
