West Shore RCMP confirmed that earlier this afternoon, officers were called to the Hemminger Law Group office located at 2475 Veterans Memorial Parkway after receiving a suspicious package.
On arrival, they found a threatening letter mailed to a staff member along with a suspicious white powder-like substance.
Police immediately called Langford Fire Rescue, CRD Hazmat and BC Ambulance to assist, and immediately quarantined the office.
Medical personnel were able to assess and decontaminate each individual that had come into contact with the contents of the envelope. They were then transported to hospital as a precautionary measure.
Authorities are now waiting for the RCMP Explosive Disposal Unit to arrive and safely dispose of the unknown substance.
A statement from police advises the public that this is an isolated incident and that there is no risk to the general public.
