Whether you’ve personally struggled with mental health or addiction, or know someone who has, these are highly stigmatized issues that touch almost everyone’s lives.
To help the public in Victoria destigmatize and recontextualize these hot topics in a way that allows them to better empathize with those who are directly affected by them, Movie Monday hosts weekly film nights and discussions that are often based on these subjects.
The showings include “eclectic and thoughtful films, often with special presentations and discussions”.
On Monday, September 17th, Movie Monday will be showing a series of seven short films curated by internationally acclaimed Vancouver-based screenwriter and director, Jason Karman.
The showing will be followed up by an audience discussion with Karman, hosted by UVic Associate Professor, Dr. Bruce Wallace.
