From open mic comedy to learninging of Mexico’s Day of the Dead followed by pumpkin carving, here are 5 things to do in and around Victoria.

Swollen Members Family Reunion Tour

The Swollen Members will be ending their 3-month long Family Reunion Tour in Victoria tonight. The Vancouver-based hip hop group burst into people’s walkmans in the late ’90s with their debut album, “Balance”, and haven’t looked back.

  • When: 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.
  • Where: Upstairs Cabaret – #15 Bastion Square

“Festival of Fear” Galey Farm

Galey Farm’s signature event features a Haunted House for kids, the much scarier 6000 square foot Carnevil Haunted House for adults, a haunted corn maze, Crazy Train and Seance. The Cornfield of Horror is fully animated and features The Haunted Mansion, Pirates Island, The Addams Graveyard and many more fabulous displays. Fun for all ages during the day, but gets much spookier after 6 pm.

  • When: Runs nightly October 12th & 13th,18th to 21st and 25th through to Halloween night. 6 p.m. – 10 p.m.

Monsters House – Fear on the Pier

It’s all anyone’s been talking about. A haunted house exploding with monsters and loaded with fright. Two-for-one admission is October 15th!

  • Where: Ogden Point, 203 Dallas Rd.
  • When: October 12th – October 31st.
    • Open 6:30pm-11pm Sun-Thurs.
    • Open 6pm-11:30pm Fri & Sat.

The Sult Mine Open Mic Comedy

Head to Sült for great food, cocktails and open mic comedy! They’ve got a great feature coming to you from Edmonton: Kathleen McGee! Benjamin Bauce hosting the night for you!

  • When: 7 p.m.
  • Where: SüLT Pierogi Bar – 609 Yates Street

Mexico’s Day of the Dead & Pumpkin Carving

Tonight the Rotaract Club of Victoria will be getting spooky and hearing from Prof. Rosa Stewart about Mexico’s Day of the Dead. After they will be carving pumpkins!

Please RSVP so they know how many pumpkins to purchase. If you are able to spare on cash please bring a toonie so they don’t go bankrupt over pumpkins.
