The invention of toilet paper is one of mankind’s greatest achievements, and no one should have to go without it just to pay the bills.

That’s why The Prodigy Group holds their annual TP the Town fundraiser, which helps provide awareness and relief for people in need.

This year, the event received a record breaking 122,880 rolls of toilet paper, which will be donated to Victoria’s Mustard Seed to be distributed throughout the year.

“The work that The Prodigy Group did to make this year happen was incredible,” said event co-founder Shaun Cerisano in a press release. “To set a record of nearly 123,000 rolls of toilet paper raised for The Mustard Seed is a feeling that I cannot put into words.”

This year marked the fourth time the Prodigy Group put on the event. In the first three years combined, the fundraiser received roughly 185,000 rolls of toilet paper, making this new one-day record even more impressive.

The Prodigy Group launched the fundraiser with the help of Thrifty Foods, Quality Foods, Save-on-Foods and Country Grocer.

The various grocery stores reduced the price of toilet paper during the event, which helped encourage shoppers to pick up a few rolls at a discount rate to donate

“The goal of TP the Town is not just to provide toilet paper, but to provide dignity and alleviate choices that most of us never have to think twice about,” said Danielle Mulligan, chair of the Prodigy Group.

The Prodigy Group is an association of emerging professionals that connects these Victoria locals with like minded peers and mentors, and works to positively impact the community.
