Calling all cannabis enthusiasts and inquirers!
In case you missed it, Trees – Island Grown – a local craft cannabis retailer – has been hosting a series of FREE educational seminars, titled ‘Higher Learning’ at their flagship location on Yates Street.
Their first event took place on October 4th, and featured a conversation about the effects of cannabis, cannabis culture, what BC’s new regulations will look like in Victoria, and some of the changes across Canada.
For their second seminar, this local company is bringing back the experts to talk to you about safe consumption, and what products are right for your specific needs.
Back at it again
For their second seminar, Trees is bringing back the three industry experts you met on October 4th, to continue the discussion:
- Sarah Lovegrove (RN, BscN, BA, MA)
- Andrew McLachlan of McLachlan Farms, Canada’s first not-for-profit medical cannabis farm
- Doug Clarke, Trees – Island Grown’s medical cannabis subsidy officer.
The focus this time will be on what to look for when you’re shopping for cannabis products, safe consumption, proper dosing, the physiological effects of cannabis, and addressing people’s fears about negative experiences and the stigma surrounding cannabis.
Snacks will be provided at the event courtesy of Café Bliss.
De-stigmatizing the industry
According to Andrew McLachlan, there will also be a segment on what to look for in your cannabis products – kind of like the ingredient lists you find on packaged goods in grocery stores.
As with the first event, there will be a no holds barred Q&A session after the discussion, allowing the audience an opportunity to have their questions and concerns addressed.
“The event series is all about having fun, engaging with the community and giving everyone a little bit of information that they can walk away with and maybe share with their neighbours and family members,” McLachlan told Victoria Buzz.
Once you’ve been to this second seminar, we know you’re going to want more! So stay tuned for our post about Trees – Island Grown’s third event, also taking place this month.
