A Victoria man charged with second-degree murder in connection of a man stabbed to death on Hillside Avenue in March pleaded not guilty in provincial court on Wednesday.
Joe Gauthier, a father of four children, was found suffering from stab wounds in the 1400 block of Hillside Ave in the early hours on March 10th, and later died in hospital of his injuries.
The suspect, 26-year-old Daniel Creagh of Victoria, was arrested in July in Maple Ridge after being released from custody on another matter.
Ridge Meadows RCMP assisted with the arrest.
Victoria police and the Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit have released few details about the case.
