Suspicious package and threatening letter delivered to Langford law firm

Share

A package, accompanied by a threatening letter, was dropped off at a law firm in Langford twice this week.

On October 15th and 16th, West Shore RCMP were called to Hemminger Law Group at 2475 Veterans Memorial Parkway after staff found a package containing a suspicious powdered substance.

The same thing happened to the company in September, when RCMP attended the offices after a white, powder-like substance was found in a package along with a threatening letter.

In these two cases, as with last time, officers followed Hazmat procedures and Explosive Disposal Units determined that the substance was benign.

Nevertheless, the office was quarantined and everyone who had come in contact with the powdery substance was decontaminated and assessed by medical personnel.

“There have been three incidents involving suspicious packages and threating letters at the Hemminger Law Group,” says Cpl. Chris Dovell.

“West Shore RCMP Major Crime Unit are leading the investigation to identify a suspect. These incidents are isolated to this location only and there is no risk to the public.”

Victoria Buzz has reached out to West Shore RCMP for further details.
