Voter turnout on election day is “strong and steady” in Victoria

Share

It’s the day we’ve all been waiting for!

Thousands of Victorians have been heading to the polls to make their voices heard, and it looks like voter turnout this year may be higher than ever before.

According to City of Victoria representative Bill Eisenhauer, advance voting day turnouts this year have been over 50% higher than the 2014 elections.

On October 20th, wait times at the various poll stations across municipality have varied throughout the day, from 20 minutes up to an hour.

Eisenhauer told Victoria Buzz that voter turnout has been “strong and steady” throughout the day. Polls close at 8 p.m., and we will be posting results as and when they come in.

But until then…

Here’s a list of all the polling stations in Victoria:

  • Burnside Gorge Community Centre
  • Central Baptist Church
  • Cook Street Village Activity Centre
  • Victoria High School
  • James Bay Community School
  • James Bay New Horizons Centre
  • Margaret Jenkins Elementary
  • Oaklands Elementary
  • Quadra Elementary
  • St. Barnabas Church
  • Sir James Douglas Elementary
  • Victoria West Elementary

Happy voting!
