Three KiSS 103.1 Victoria radio personalities let go by Rogers Media

Victoria Buzz has learned that as of Thursday, local radio station Kiss 103.1 FM has let go of three prominent morning and afternoon show personalities.

Morning show hosts, Vanessa Chiu and Tyler Barr (of Vanessa & Tyler), and afternoon announcer Bailey Parker are no longer the voices of Kiss 103.1 as of November 8th.

Although no official announcement has been made regarding the direction the station is going to take now, there is speculation that they are preparing to switch to a Country music genre format.

The company, owned by Rogers Media, flipped to a modern-hit station in 2015 from its original brand ‘Jack FM’ which was launched in 2004.

We will be providing an update when an official media release is made available.

“I don’t know what the next step is for me but I’m at peace with that,” Bailey Parker told Victoria Buzz.

“Everything will work out how it’s supposed to and I wish for nothing but the best for whatever direction KiSS goes in the future.”

In the meantime, she plans to “get caught up on RuPaul’s Drag Race and figure out [her] life”.

In an email, a communications manager at Rogers Media told Victoria Buzz there are “no planned changes” to the format of the station. “We are always looking for ways to better serve our listeners and more information on that to come in the next few weeks.”
