Victoria Royals host Spokane Chiefs tonight for Canadian Armed Forces Night

Share

The Victoria Royals will pay tribute to military families tonight, Saturday, November 10th when they host the Spokane Chiefs for Canadian Armed Forces Night.

This is the second of back-to-back games between the two teams. The Royals generated offence from six different goal scorers as the team earned a 7-5 victory against the Spokane Chiefs on Friday night.

Tarun Fizer opened the scoring just nine seconds into the first period. His goal tied the franchise record for the quickest goal to open a game, which had previously occurred on two occasions.

Those goals were scored by Royals’ alumnus Taylor Crunk on March 8, 2014 against the Kamloops Blazers and by former Chilliwack Bruin Ryan Howse on January 9, 2011 vs. the Seattle Thunderbirds.

The Victoria Royals will wear special commemorative Canadian Forces jerseys with the CFB Esquimalt crest on them at tonight’s game. Several of the jerseys will be auctioned off live following the game, with proceeds benefiting military families and veterans.

Other things to know about tonight’s game:

  • There will be displays and interactive military showcases
  • Pre-Game Ceremony for our Veterans
  • National Anthem performed by Naden Band
  • Discounted Tickets for those with valid military ID
