Your dog can swim at Esquimalt Rec next week before pool closes for upgrades

Share

Bring your 4-legged friend to this inaugural pool party in Esquimalt!

The Esquimalt Recreation Centre is hosting a dog swim next Sunday (December 2) before draining the pools for annual maintenance.

No humans allowed in the water, this one’s for the dogs!

Once the party is over, several big repairs will commence. The 2-week maintenance schedule will include pump repairs, replace broken tiles, and  filter replacements. The heater and broken wood in the sauna will also be fixed up. If all goes to plan, the pool should reopen after December 17th.

Entrance Bullen Field side door, advanced registration required (absolutely no day of registration). Your dog will need to have a valid license and staff ask that you have the number ready at time of registration.

The swim will be broken up into two swims based on the size of dog. Small and medium-sized dogs will go from 3:45 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and medium to large dogs will swim from 4:45 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Pre-registration is required and costs $10, and can be done at esquimalt.ca.

In addition to the swim, dogs can get their photo taken with Santa in the Rec Centre Atrium. No registration required. Participants are encouraged to bring a non-perishable item for the food bank.
