A 4.7-magnitude earthquake occurred off the coast of northwest Vancouver Island on Friday night.
According to the US Geological Survey (USGS), the earthquake struck at 11:33 p.m. about 272.5 km west of Tofino.
There have been no reports of island residents feeling the effects of the seismic event, and no tsunami warning has been issued.
This earthquake follows on the heels of a 7.0 magnitude quake in Anchorage, Alaska that also occurred on Friday, November 30th.
