Gingerbread House Scavenger Hunt

The elves have been busy in Sidney this Christmas! 50 different gingerbread houses are hidden in the shops throughout town! Find 12 and enter to win 1 of 3 great prizes. Entrance forms can be found in the December Events Calendar which can be picked up at the Sidney Info Centre at 2281 Beacon Avenue (also located in various businesses across Sidney).

Colwood Christmas Light Up Celebration

Join the community celebration tonight when City Hall officially lights up for the holidays!

While supplies last, enjoy steaming hot chocolate provided by Bitez Sandwich Bar, hot dogs donated by Red Barn Latoria Walk and mouthwatering baked goods courtesy of Royal Bay Bakery.

There will be fun craft activities for kids, led by volunteers from West Shore Parks and Recreation to keep them busy while they eagerly await Santa’s arrival by fire truck.

Third Annual Two Drunk Witches Holiday Gathering

It’s back! Celebrate the holiday season with at the Third Annual Two Drunk Witches Holiday Gathering! 

There will be snacks and bevvies on hand, and plenty of your favourite Two Drunk Witches’ products to sample and purchase!

Plus, the first 20 people through the door will receive a complimentary Two Drunk Witches gift!

Acoustic Open Mic

Acoustic open mic, hosted by local musicians Pamela Hardy and Matt Brett.

Join for an evening of acoustic music, and enjoy a pint (or three) of delicious craft beer.

Performers receive 2 pints of their choosing, compliments of Sooke Brewing Company.

Due to limited space and it being a relatively small room, only solo and duo acts are permitted. Acoustic instruments only, and no percussion. House guitar will be provided, but musicians are encouraged to bring their own. Musicians will be given a 20 minute set, so come prepared.

Poems of Colour

City of Victoria Youth Poet Laureate Agartu Ali invites you to attend Poems of Colour, an evening of poetry that celebrates diversity and explores the themes of race and ethnicity on Thursday, December 6 from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. at the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria, 1040 Moss Street.

The event will feature poetry readings by Agartu Ali, Jillian Christmas, Aziza Moqia Sealey-Qaylo, Ann-Bernice Thomas, and Neko Smart, with live music performed by Hannah Morrison. Victoria City Councillor Shamarke Dubow will provide the keynote address. 

Complimentary snacks and beverages will be provided.

The event is FREE but space is limited.
