The Victoria Public Market in downtown is officially in full holiday mode!
Throughout the month of December, the market, located at 1701 Douglas Street, will be hosting a number of Christmas-themed events to get you and your loved ones in the spirit.
Here are some noteworthy features:
Mr. Claus will be making an appearance at the Market
On Saturday December 1st, December 8th and December 15th, Santa Claus will be taking free photos with the public at the market! Take this chance to have your kids sit on Santa’s lap and tell him their Christmas wishes!
Santa will be located at the upper level of the market, in front of Bumble + Hive. Donations are optional, and will be given to CFAX’s Santas Anonymous campaign.
Friday Night Christmas Markets (19+)
Leave the kids at home for this one! The night markets are 19+ only. Take this opportunity to do some Christmas shopping in peace and quiet, and enjoy some mulled wine, served from 5:00pm – 8:00pm every Friday evening in December.
There will be live music, and a Christmas workshop series.
*Note: minors are still permitted in the upper level of the market, and in the Bumble + Hive play-area.
Christmas workshop series
Along with the opportunity to do some Christmas shopping, the market is offering workshops every Friday evening: starting on December 7th with a Christmas centrepiece workshop, and ending on December 21st, with a “Bean-to-Bar Chocolate 101” workshop.

Get your Christmas cookie decorating on!
On Saturday, December 1st, 8th and 15th, from 12:00 – 3:00 p.m., there will be free cookie decorating at the market.
Cookies, icing and candies are provided. Located in front of the Community Kitchen, this is a great way to get into the Christmas spirit on a budget!
