BC Ferries adds over 160 extra sailings for the holiday season

In anticipation of heightened traffic during the holiday season, BC Ferries is adding a total of over 160 extra sailings to its Vancouver-Victoria and West Vancouver-Nanaimo routes.

From December 20th to January 1st, the company is adding 130 additional sailings to its most popular route, Tsawwassen-Swartz Bay, including:

  • 6 a.m. departures from both terminals on December 26th and 27th
  • 10 p.m. departures from Tsawwassen on December 21st and 28th
  • 10 p.m. departures from Swartz Bay on December 23rd, 26th, and 27th
  • Midnight sailings from Tsawwassen on December 26th and 27th

There will also be over 30 extra sailings added to the West Vancouver-Nanaimo (Horseshoe Bay-Departure Bay) route, and 6 on the West Vancouver-Sunshine Coast route.

BC Ferries anticipates that December 27th will be the most popular travel day of the holiday season overall.
