A water main break early Tuesday morning has prompted police to block several streets to all vehicle and pedestrian traffic near Uptown mall.

The water pipe burst at about 6 a.m. on December 4th at the intersection of Carey Rd and Cadillac Ave, causing water to spill onto the streets and make its way onto the Trans Canada Highway.

“Police have the Galloping Goose trail and surrounding streets blocked off until Municipal staff are able to resolve the issue,” reads a statement from Saanich Police.

Unconfirmed reports also suggest that as of 8 a.m., a pedestrian was struck at the intersection of Burnside and Harriet Road.

More to come.
