With the holidays coming to an end, travellers between the island and the mainland are filling up the ferries fast.

At the time of publication, the 4 p.m., 5 p.m., and 6 p.m. sailings have all reached 100% capacity for cars.

Meanwhile, the 7 p.m. ferry is nearly 80% full as of 3:45 p.m. and the 8 p.m. is already at 50% capacity.

If you’re looking to plan ahead, BC ferries notes that reserved traffic is flowing normally.

Earlier this month, BC Ferries announced that they were adding 130 extra sailings between Victoria and Vancouver during the holiday season.

While December 26th – 28th are the highest traffic volume after Christmas, BC Ferries says that December 27th is the the most popular travel day of the holiday season overall.

According to BC Ferries, there are no weather delays or concerns right now.
