A 25-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with a carport fire in Oak Bay earlier this week.

The Oak Bay Fire Department extinguished the small carport fire at around 4 p.m. on Monday, January 7th on Frederick Norris Rd.

According to Oak Bay Police Deputy Chief Ray Bernoties, officers then quickly apprehended the 25-year-old suspect as she was charged with arson in an earlier incident.

The same individual was arrested for starting two fires in the same area in July 2018.

“We have, again, recommended charges of arson and she is currently in custody pending court [trial],” Bernoties told Victoria Buzz.

There were no injuries as a result of this incident.
