West Shore RCMP are looking for witnesses of an alleged hit-and-run that took place in Langford on Saturday Night.

At approximately 8:20 p.m., police say a woman was crossing the street at the major intersection of Veterans Memorial Parkway and Goldstream Avenue in Langford when a vehicle ran into her.

The woman told police the car was approaching a red light and preparing to make a right turn onto Veterans Memorial Parkway when it turned into her, striking her in the leg and causing her to hit the hood of the vehicle.

The car stopped for a moment before hurrying down Veterans Memorial Parkway.

The car is described as a burnt orange-coloured vehicle that has a similar body shape to an older model Pontiac Firefly.

“Luckily, the woman was not seriously injured,” said Cst. Nancy Saggar of the West Shore RCMP in a release.

“We are looking for the driver or any witnesses to come forward and speak to police about this collision.”

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact the West Shore RCMP at 250-474-2264 or anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
