Wind warning predicts gusts up to 90 km/h will hit Greater Victoria on Sunday

Share

The winter winds are making a comeback this weekend.

According to a wind warning from Environment Canada, a Pacific low pressure system approaching from the south will sweep across Vancouver Island early Sunday morning.

As a result, residents in the Greater Victoria region can expect the development of southwest winds up to 70 km/h accompanied by gusts of 90 km/h.

The winds are expected to ease up by Sunday afternoon as the low pressure system moves inland.

As always, the agency reminds people to be wary of damage to buildings, and loose objects tossed around by the wind.

Meanwhile, the overall weather forecast shows a whole week of rain, with bursts of sunshine making an appearance on Saturday and Monday.
