A large fire has broken out in Sooke, causing a plume of smoke over the municipality.
Fire crews from Otter Point, Sooke and Metchosin are currently battling the flames, which allegedly broke out just after 5:30 p.m. at a commercial building.
The fire has completely engulfed a building and is reportedly causing sporadic explosions – some residents in the area tell Victoria Buzz there is a propane filling station which could be the source of the fire.
Edward Milne Road is closed and police are asking the public to avoid the area.
