West Shore RCMP are investigating two separate incidents in which expensive strollers were stolen from residences in the region.

In the first case, a black “Thule Urban Glide 2” stroller worth over $850 was stolen from a residence located on Whirlaway Cresent in Langford.

It was taken from the patio of the home where it was parked, sometime in the evening on Friday, February 22nd. A stock photo of the same stroller brand is shown below:

Another stroller was stolen from the front porch of a residence located on Eaton Ave in View Royal, on Monday, February 25th.

This time, it was a ‘Chariot’ brand bike-attachment stroller that was blue and red in colour. Here’s a photo:

“While we don’t know if these two thefts are related, we view these thefts as a crime of opportunity,” said Cst. Nancy Saggar.

“We would like to remind parents and caregivers to store their strollers in a secure place as you would with any other high priced item. With the high cost of these items there is a growing market for second hand purchases and it’s important to prevent stolen items from entering this market.”

Anyone who has information about these thefts is asked to call West Shore RCMP at 250-474-2264 or report anonymously through Crime stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
