Share

On Saturday, February 9th, two men broke into a convenience store in Langford and stole an ATM machine from the premises – and one of the attempts was captured on video.

West Shore RCMP released photos of the two suspects and a video of one of them tying a towing wire around the ATM, attaching it to their vehicle outside, and attempting to haul it out. This first try was unsuccessful, however, as the wire promptly broke.

The incident took place at around 3:48 a.m. at a convenience store located on Happy Valley Road in Langford.

The first suspect was wearing a baseball cap, jacket and long pants; the second suspect was wearing a hoodie with the hood up, winter jacket with possible fur collared hood, and long pants. Their images are below:

In a similar incident on February 2nd, a man was reported running into a convenience store on West Shore Parkway at around 5 a.m., placing a tow wire around the ATM, attaching it to a white F150 truck and attempting to haul it away.

This attempt failed when the wire broke, and the would be thief left empty handed.

If you have any information about these two investigations or can identify anyone of the suspects, please call the West Shore RCMP at 250-474-2264 or report it anonymously through Crime Stoppers At 1-800-222-8477.
