Gordon Campbell, who served as the Premier of BC for a decade from 2001 to 2011, is being accused of sexual assault by a female London embassy worker. The incident reportedly occurred during his time as Canadian High Commissioner to Britain.
A news report published by The Daily Telegraph contends that Scotland Yard is investigating Campbell for allegedly groping the female employee in 2013.
The reported victim, 54-year-old Judith Prins, told the Telegraph that “she felt ‘completely violated'” when Campbell groped her before a meeting at the Canadian embassy in Trafalgar Square. Her choice to speak out now was inspired by the #MeToo movement.
A spokesperson for Campbell told the newspaper that the accusation was made transparently and “became the subject of a full due diligence investigation at the time by the government of Canada and was found to be without merit.”
The report also included a statement from the Metropolitan Police saying that an investigation is underway.
