A large police presence was reported at the intersection of Burnside Road East and Carroll Street on Friday morning.
Armed VicPD officers, Emergency Response Teams, an armoured vehicle, and Victoria firefighters were present during a standoff at an apartment building in the 300-block of Burnside Rd East that began at around 8 a.m.
Sources say that police deployed tear gas into a ground-level suite, after which a man came out and was subsequently arrested. The area was cordoned off to the public.
