Those who were looking to fly out of the island or were hoping to greet friends when they landed might have to postpone their plans, as Victoria’s international airport cancelled dozens of flights due to poor weather conditions.
In total, 21 departures and arrivals were cancelled while 6 flights have been delayed since Tuesday morning. However, most flights towards the afternoon and evening are still scheduled to arrive on time.

The airport also lost power and was running on backup generators for roughly 2 hours following a power outage at the Airport Terminal Building at around 8:20 a.m. this morning.
BC Hydro crews travelled to the airport and restored power at approximately 9:40 a.m.

Ferries still sailing
After cancelling all sailings between Swartz Bay and Tsawwassen after 5 p.m. last night, BC Ferries has returned to their usual schedule, albeit with some delays.
Some of the sailings were held up due to adverse weather conditions, while other wait times were attributed to staffing issues.
