Pat Bay Highway crash shuts down road and pushes median barrier into oncoming traffic

Share

A three vehicle collision on the Pat Bay Highway near McKenzie Avenue snarled traffic early Wednesday morning, temporarily shutting down the road in both directions.

At approximately 6:30 a.m., a vehicle travelling southbound rear ended a vehicle in front of it, causing it to crash into the concrete median barrier.

A section of the median barrier was then pushed into the northbound side of the highway, where it was struck by another vehicle travelling in that direction.

Police say that three people were transported to hospital with unknown injuries.

The highway has since re-opened in both directions and the median barrier was moved back into place.
