Sudden death in Gordon Head deemed ‘not suspicious’ by Saanich police

The “sudden death” of a man in Gordon Head on Thursday has been deemed not suspicious by detectives of the Saanich Police.

At approximately 1:30 p.m., police were called to the 4200-block of Gordon Head Road for reports of a man found unresponsive and not breathing in the area.

Officers from Saanich Police, including members of the detective division and forensic identification team attended the scene alongside emergency health services and the BC Coroners Service.

Authorities were able to determine that he had died on site.

No foul play is suspected in the case and it has now been handed over to the BC Coroners Service.

The man’s identity has been confirmed and his family has been notified of his death.

“Our condolences go out to his family and friends,” said Detective Sergeant Kowalewich of the Saanich Police.
