A woman accused of brandishing a machete during a parking lot dispute has reached out to West Shore RCMP and expressed interest in meeting the investigators involved in the case.

On Sunday, April 28th, a woman was attempting to park in a stall at Costco when, according to her, she was cut off abruptly by another woman who took her stall.

The two then began arguing about the stall, after which the suspect allegedly pulled out a machete from her vehicle and brandished it at the complainant in a threatening manner.

At this time, the accuser stepped away and called police.

When the incident was first reported, police released a statement letting the suspect know that they have identified her but would like her to come forward and share her story voluntarily.

The suspect has since called West Shore RCMP and expressed that she would like to speak to the investigators, however that meeting has not yet taken place.

Officers are waiting to speak with the woman as well as hear eyewitness accounts before deciding whether or not to pursue charges.

Police are also still seeking witnesses, so anyone who observed this incident unfold is asked to contact West Shore RCMP at 250-474-2264 or report anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
