A statement from Atomique Productions clarifies that the festival will be back in 2020 and anyone who purchased Early Bird tickets for 2019 will be refunded at point of purchase, or their passes can be redeemed for entry next year.
“Over the past eleven years Rifflandia has showcased more than 1500 artists, including some of the biggest touring acts in the world today, while uniting a generation of music lovers in our community and beyond,” says Atomique.
“But as our city continues to change before our eyes, our region’s unique festival landscape is evolving and this requires our careful attention to ensure that Rifflandia is able to thrive for years to come, alongside our artists, audience and partners.”
Last year’s festival lineup left some fans disappointed, as calls for more popular musicians resounded on social media which may have been a contributing factor in the decision to postpone the event.
Earlier this year, the event management company also decided to cancel annual West Shore music festival Rock the Shores, with no information on whether or not they plan to bring it back in the future.
They do, however, have plans to bring Rifflandia back in September 17-20th, 2020.
We are saddened to say that this year's Rifflandia Festival has been postponed to September 17-20, 2020. We're so grateful for your support throughout the years and look forward to seeing everyone next year! More details (inc ticket refund info) here: https://t.co/GOojbYcL0s pic.twitter.com/v7wVQzT1jM
