A section of Johnson Street will be closed to vehicle traffic for 3 days beggining Monday as construction crews remove a tower crane.
The 900-block of Johnson Street between Quadra and Vancouver Street will be closed on Monday May 13th, Tuesday May 14th, and Wednesday May 15th between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. each day.
The closure is necessary in order to safely disassemble and remove a tower crane, and the work may extend into Thursday if there are high winds or mechanical issues.
Access to businesses and homes in the area will be maintained and a north sidewalk providing access to pedestrians will remain open at all times.
Cyclists will be required to dismount and walk their bikes through the area, and BC Transit buses will be rerouted as required.
