Two people were arrested Sunday afternoon after VicPD recovered over $6,000 worth of stolen jewelry in a downtown residence.

On the morning of May 19th, VicPD officers were called to the 500-block of Fisgard Avenue after a business’ security alarm was triggered.

When officers arrived, they determined that a break and enter had occurred and that thieves had made off with thousands of dollars worth of jewelry from the store.

Investigators then examined the scene and determined that the culprits were likely in a suite within the same building.

Officers then went to the suite and located and arrested two suspects, a man and a woman.

Later that day, police then acquired a search warrant for the suite and returned to scour the residence. Officers found all of the stolen jewelry inside and recovered the items.

VicPD say that both the man and the woman are known to them and the pair remain in custody.
