West Shore RCMP are seeking the public’s assistance in their search for a man who offered a ride to a group of elementary school students in Langford.

On Friday, June 7th just before 8 a.m., a man driving a silver car approached three children in the area of Atkins Ave and Crystal View Dr, near Crystal View Elementary School.

He then stopped the vehicle and addressed the children, asking them “Do you need a lift?” The children immediately said no, went to school, and reported what happened.

The suspect is described as a thin dark skinned male in his early 20s with short curly hair and a short beard or goatee.

At the time of the incident, he was wearing grey shirt, “business clothing” and driving a newer, small silver 4-door car.

“Police patrols and canvassing for the vehicle and driver are negative so far,” said Cpl. Chris Dovell.

“Investigators are requesting the driver of the silver vehicle and anyone that may have witnessed the interactions between driver and the [children] to call West Shore RCMP or Crime Stoppers.”

To report what you know, contact RCMP at 250-474-2264 or anonymously contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, online www.victoriacrimestoppers.ca.
