Rogers launches “unlimited” cellphone data plans across Canada starting tomorrow

Share

Canadians can finally sign up for an unlimited data plan with no overage charges with one of the three major telecommunications companies in the country.

Starting Thursday, June 13th, Rogers is rolling out their “Infinite plans” starting at $75 for 10GB of high speed data per month, with a speed cap at the limit but no additional charges for going over.

This means users still receive wireless internet connection at lower speeds once they’ve used up 10GB of data without being charged for it.

This data can be shared with friends and family, and additional high speed data past the 10GB limit can be purchased via their ‘Speed Pass’ priced at $15 for 3GB.

“Canadians want worry-free wireless and these new plans will give our customers peace of mind so they can use as much data as they want,” said Joe Natale, President and Chief Executive Officer.

“This is about putting our customers first, and helping them get the most out of their wireless services. These plans represent another critical step forward in our commitment to creating the best experience for our customers.”

Existing Rogers customers can move their current device balances on to this new plan starting tomorrow.

More to come

Later this summer, Rogers Infinite plans will start including new device financing options so customers can purchase any device they want at $0.

As with most other plans, once their device is paid off, clients will only pay for their monthly service plan.

“Canada has some of the fastest wireless networks in the world,” adds Natale.

“The new Rogers Infinite plans will help Canadians take full advantage of wireless in their everyday life.  These new plans will help our customers unleash the full potential of 4G wireless services today and 5G wireless services tomorrow.”
