An incident involving two vehicles caused traffic delays on Blanshard Street for commuters Wednesday morning.
At approximately 9 a.m., two vehicles were involved in a collision at the intersection of Blanshard Street and Saanich Road.
According to Saanich Police, a blue Chevrolet car was travelling eastbound on Saanich Road when it ran a red light and collided with a red Buick SUV that was driving southbound on Blanshard Street through the intersection.
Saanich Police, the fire department, and ambulance teams all attended the scene and police say that four people — the two drivers plus two passengers — received minor injuries from the crash.
Police say that no one needed to be taken to hospital for treatment of their injuries.
Following the crash, the driver of the blue Chevrolet was issued a violation ticket for “disobeying the red light”.
Both vehicles have since been removed from the area.
