In a significant change of stance, BC Hydro has made a decision to soften its position on the seismic safety risk of the dam above the tiny hamlet of Jordan River.
That means overnight camping could resume as early as this Friday, the Times Colonist reports.
BC Hydro has also told homeowners below that dam they will extend an open offer to purchase the homes at a fair value, when they come up for sale. Â BC Hydro still maintains a desire to slowly depopulate the area below the dam.
