Heritage Haunted House is an annual family operated Halloween event that takes place in Saanich, 5:30 pm- 9:30 pm October 31st.
Carly Burbank, son Conner and their family have been hosting this yearly haunted house for 10 years. This is their third Halloween since relocating to Saanich. The goal is to raise money for charity with visitors having the option to make a donation at the entrance. This year’s charity is the Help Fill a Dream Foundation which grants wishes to terminally ill island children.
You can expect to see zombies, a graveyard, witches’ den, a clown’s tent, chop shop, fog tent, skeleton dinner, spider invasion, demonic doll house and an evil pumpkin patch, to name but a few of the horrors!
Without the help of numerous volunteers and sponsors the event would not have been able to grow to the extent that it has. Some of the volunteers have been working with the family for years – one even flew out from another province to help out.
This year’s sponsors include Thriftys Food, Costco, Knappet Projects Inc., Everything Old, Ali Baba Pizza, Their Pumpkin Carvers the 33rd GVA Medvents and Ignite Youth group from Saanich Baptists Church.
Come out, help support a great cause and hopefully leave with your souls intact. Happy Halloween!!
