A 39 year old man has been arrested for arson and mischief, after Conservative Party signs were set on fire on Monday night.

Sidney-North Saanich RCMP had responded to a report of two Conservative Party signs on fire on West Saanich Road – one near Willingdon Road, and another near McTavish Road.

According to the RCMP, they arrived to find a 39 year old from Duncan, with a propane torch head next to his car, and a propane tank inside his car.

He was released from custody with a pending court appearance.
