In support of military both past and present, Urge Tattoos once again were giving away poppy tattoos. The 5th Annual Urge Poppy Tattoo Drive again benefited the Canadian Legion.

Mark Adamson (aka Sparky), owner of Urge Studios, tells Victoria Buzz the 2015 tattoo drive was one of the most successful to date. Staff observed the Moment of Silence at 11AM with the rest of the country, and were soon very busy inking donors throughout the day.

Urge, with on-site help of Goldstream Tattoo, raised $3500, while The Burly Beard Tattoo and Incendiary Tattoos, the other two shops who participated, brought in $3800 and $550 bucks respectively.

“We’re super proud to have started a tradition of giving back to our vets six years ago, and we are particularly stoked to have have had help from these great artists and people,” says Adamson.

The Legion uses income generated from Poppy sales to help past and present service men & women as well as their families. All proceeds will be donated to the Royal Canadian Legion by all three shops.

Urge also held a tattoo fundraiser for the wounded warriors run this past summer, and holds another for the association of injured motorcycle riders (AIM) every October.
