Surprise! Environment Canada has issued yet another wind warning for Greater Victoria.
A deep low pressure system has hit the south coast this morning. Southeast winds are expected to reach 70 to 90 km/h over the outer coast of Vancouver Island and through much of the inner south coast including the Victoria area.
Gusts as high as 110 km/h have been recorded at Trial Island, off Victoria.
As of 9 AM Thursday, just over 9,300 BC Hydro customers have lost power. View the latest outages.
Several BC Ferries sailings have also been cancelled due to high winds.
