A 20-year-old woman remains in critical condition after collision between two vehicles in Cobble Hill, Wednesday night.  Police suspect alcohol was involved.

Shawnigan Lake RCMP responded to the crash just after 6pm on the Trans Canada Highway at Fisher Rd.

Police said a flatbed truck travelling southbound on Highway 1, turned left from the Trans-Canada Highway onto Fisher Road, directly into the path of a white BMW heading northbound.

The BMW sedan was unable to negotiate around the truck, the vehicles collided and the BMW burst into flames.

The 20-year-old, female passenger of the BMW was rushed hospital where she remains in critical condition. Two other were taken to hospital and a fourth was treated on the scene.

Investigators are still piecing together what happened, but have confirmed they’re investigating the driver of the flatbed truck for possible drunk driving.
