Expect major delays for the next two weeks if you are heading into downtown Victoria over the next two weeks, starting Thursday.
Blanshard Street heading southbound will be down to one lane between Finlayson Street and Hillside Avenue for two weeks as BC Hydro constructs a large underground distribution vault.
The $95-million project will commence January 7, and is expected to wrap up around January 20. BC Hydro crews will need to excavate a four-metre-deep hole for the vault.
The new vault will connect lines to a substation at Topaz Avenue and Quesnel Street – the same station that provides power to much of downtown and the B.C. Legislature.
