Original story:

Major Crime Investigators are looking for a man believed to be responsible for a series of robberies of businesses in downtown Victoria and the James Bay neighbourhood since January 29th.

Update: We originally had a photo posted of the suspect but Victoria Police have asked that we remove for the integrity of the investigation.  We will post it back once they confirm it is okay.

The suspect wears a fluorescent orange, full-body construction suit, and a dark balaclava. He is described as a Caucasian male, standing 6’0” to 6’2” tall with a heavy build.

Victoria Police investigators believe the same man is responsible for robberies at Pic-a-Flic Video; Beacon Drive Thru; a store in the 1500-block of Cook Street; Oswego Video on two separate occasions; Mac’s on Menzies Street also on two separate occasions – the latest occurring just after 4:20 a.m. this morning.

One long time employee of Oswego Video tells Victoria Buzz he was at the store both times it was robbed. The second time the suspect walked up to the counter and said, “I’m back, open the till.” The employee complied by opening the till, he then walked over to customers and warned them of the robbery that was underway, and told them to get to the back of the store.

The suspect also walks into the businesses with one hand in the pocket and claims he has a gun.

We originally had a photo posted of the suspect but Victoria Police have asked that we remove for the integrity of the investigation.
