Central Saanich police are appealing for witnesses to a fatal crash that occurred on the Pat Bay Highway early this morning. An officer came upon-the crash scene shortly after 3 am.
The collision happened on Highway 17 just north of Mount Newton Cross Road
Police say a 47-year-old man driving a small black car is dead after the car he was driving left the road and hit a semi-trailer parked on the shoulder of the road.
The lone occupant was deceased when Central Saanich police officers attended the scene.
Police say the investigation is ongoing and it’s not immediately clear what caused the vehicle to leave the roadway. The name of the victim has not yet been released.
