Today upon execution of a search warrant VicPD located several firearms in connection with yesterday’s incident on Douglas street. Officers continue their investigation into a reported incident that saw one man point what appeared to be a firearm at another.

On Tuesday evening, VicPD were called to the 2900-block of Douglas Street, in the vicinity of Canadian Tire and Douglas Centre, after a man reported that another man had pointed what he believed to be a firearm at him. The investigation led officers to a residence in the 1400-block of Edgeware Road where police quickly descended on that residence and took three people into custody without incident.

One man remains in custody, and the other two have been eliminated as suspects and have been released.

Police are looking for witnesses that were in the area of the 2900-block of Douglas Street, on Tuesday March 22, between 6:15 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. that might have seen something suspicious.

If you have any information about this file, please call VicPD on the non-emergency line at 250-995-7654. Information on this, or any crime, can also be reported anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
